You might be one of the people who came to Medium.com to make money. You heard that there are people making money with the Medium Partner Program and — of course––you ask:
How can I make money with this new opportunity?
The problem is this: It’s not new.
And it might not be lucrative either…
You see, making money with “partner programs” — Medium, Quora, Youtube, etc.–– depends largely on your ability to become popular.
If, by any means, you succeed, you might, possibly, earn a small fortune.
But nobody knows for sure…
The problem here is, of course, that once the algorithm changes, i.e. once Medium changes anything about their partner program, you are screwed.

To be successful, you have to find a way to get paid without any other company between you and your customer. They have to pay you directly.
You think you will earn money from the people who pay for subscriptions while in reality Medium is making money and paying you a small fraction of what they are making every month.
Medium gets paid and a little bit goes to their most popular writers. Not necessarily the ones you read the most. At the end of the day, it is Medium (the company) which makes the most money — not your favorite writers.
What you have to do
You have to build TRUST.
Instead of making money with a “partner program”, leverage your popularity by selling directly to your customers. Build a list of loyal fans who buy regularly from you — whatever it is that you are selling.
How to do it
Build a list.
Followers on Medium are nice, Youtube subscribers are nice, likes are nice… But the money is in the list. That is, a list of contact details of people who buy regularly from you. E-Mails. You need their e-mail addresses.
Then send them new information regularly.
Send them FREE stuff and send them cool offers of the things that you are selling. Things they want to know about and things they want to buy.
