I made a mistake…

Don’t make the same mistake when writing online!

Since 2020, I’ve been writing regularly on my blog every second day. I put a lot of time and effort into articles that no one reads — since I have no visitors there.

You could say I made a mistake.

I should have written on Medium.com instead. I see now after a short time that my number of followers is increasing. That means more people are reading my articles.

You could say I should have better written on Medium.com. Having my own website was a bad idea. The experts of the Internet have already predicted it and they were right!

But were they really?

My own website gave me the opportunity to try new things and find myself. I published everything I wanted there, because nobody was interested in it. Truly, it is an advantage to be unknown.

In the end, I exercised my writing muscle and today it’s easier for me to write. So did I really make a “mistake” or just do what I enjoyed? Was it really a bad choice if I enjoyed it?

In the end, I learned something from it and that is that there is no right or wrong, just something that works for me or doesn’t. The money was never the focus and who cares how many readers I have if I just enjoy the writing?

Life lesson: Do things first because they bring you joy — not because you want to achieve anything with them. Because something will come out of that in the long run…
