HOW TO LOOK INTO YOUR FUTURE
The world is constantly changing and everyone seems very confused. Don’t be.
Introduction
To look into your future … you need to have beliefs. Act according to these beliefs as if they were true even if you do not know exactly if they are true.
By having such beliefs, you create stability in your life.

The trailer of the movie Pi highlights such beliefs quite well:

1. Mathematics is the language of nature.
2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers.
3. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge. Therefore, there are patterns everywhere in nature.

While the protagonist is following a rather obsessive behavior, the general idea of having such assumptions is a good one.
Especially when you evaluate your assumptions every now and then.
Not every day, but once a week.
Of course I re-evaluate my assumptions and learn more about them but I would never look „by force“ to prove them wrong or right.
I re-evaluate them not to enforce them or strengthen them, but rather to say:
„What have I learned this week?
Which of my assumptions are false?
Which have been proven true/false?”
Why not by force?
Why not prove them wrong or right for once?
You see, this is why they are „beliefs“.
But I am always ready to adapt them.
As long as they suit me well, I am living by them.
My assumptions
Well, and before we move on, here are examples of my „beliefs“:
- God does not exist.
- Talent does not exist.
- Mathematics is the language of science.
- Technology is increasing.
- Complexity is increasing.
- Entropy (disorder of a system, lack of knowledge of its precise state) is increasing.
- Money is what we believe we think it is.
- The only way to become rich is to find a way to earn money while you sleep / while you are not working.
What does that mean?
Alright, just having beliefs is one thing but acting upon them is the important part.
God does not exist.
Imagine if there is a God, and his existence has been proven, I would act differently. I would re-evaluate my whole life. This why this is on the first position. however, since there is no God, I can do the following:
- Ignore religions alltogether. None of them is true.
- Do not base my morality standards on a religious book
- Do not believe anything that gives „God“ credibility
- Science is therefore the predominant methodology of research and wisdom
Talent does not exist.
If there is no talent, this means:
- Everything can be learned.
- There is no excuse for not understanding something. You have to learn it.
- There is no talent for a specific topic or subject. You are not too stupid to understand a thing, you are just lazy. Take the time to learn it.
One which has been „proven“ (wrong word here) was my belief of „talent does not exist“.
In the book „PEAK“ the author gives some very insightful ideas and makes the claims that everything can be learned but of course some things can only be achieved at a very high level if one starts early enough in their lives.
But this does not mean that there are „talents“.
This book „came to me by accident“. I saw it, got it, read it. I was not actively looking to prove my assumption right or wrong.
So in a sense, my assumption has been strengthened by this book (and many others), I read something which increased my belief in my own assumption, but nothing has been proven.
I am still open to the possibility that I am completely wrong.
Mathematics is the language of science.
You see, this sounds a lot like this movie Pi.
But I had this idea when I studied computer science and engineering.
I just saw that there was a lot of math.
And you cannot simply negate the fact that math is the basis for natural sciences.
Here is what this means:
- If we want to innovate, implement new ideas, … they need to be true in Math first
- If we want to build something (house, bridge, machinery, etc.), we need to be able to calculate it
- If you can’t, it’s not possible. Does not matter how much you want to believe in it.
Technology is increasing.
There is only going to be more tech in the future.
Start to learn more about it today!
Complexity is increasing.
Life is not going to get simpler.
Focus on complexity.
And learn more.
Entropy is increasing.
This is true and is a fundamental principle of physics, specifically the Second Law of Thermodynamics. It has been extensively observed and tested, making it one of the most well-established laws in science.
However, I believe this is also true in life. It is very related with my belief that “Complexity is increasing”. Chaos is also increasing.
More people, more chaos…
Money is what we believe we think it is.
Oh it is energy… it is frequency… money is a scam… money is this or that.
Money is just numbers on a computer screen.
There is no emotional attachment to it.
It is what you think it is.
The only way to become rich is to find a way to earn money while you sleep / while you are not working.
Another belief on money and the making of it…
Stop working so hard.
It’s not worth it.
Looking into your future
By having these beliefs, I am resistant against trends …
This is important because it gives me stability in life.
As I said, these beliefs have helped me quite well.
I also act (or do not act) according to these beliefs.
e.g. Choosing a job and degree in Tech
You think this or that will become the next big X or Y?
Focus on what is more complex.
Do not focus on what is more complicated.
What does the future hold?
More people, more chaos…
More regulations…
They do not mean better structure.
Entropy is increasing…
Why havent you learned X?
You think you cannot learn X because you were bad at school
You think you do not have a talent for it?
Think again.
There is no talent.
No excuses.
